Zanes Law Donates Thousands of School Supplies to 450 Tucson Teachers at its 8th Annual School Supply Giveaway!

Zanes Law donates school supplies at our Eighth Annual School Supply Giveaway on Saturday, Aug.4th. At the first school supply giveaway in 2010, 100 lucky teachers benefited from the program. This year, over 400 teachers attended and left with school supplies to get their school year started.

Supplies included everything from markers, to paper, to classroom cleaning supplies and more. This year the teachers seemed to love the organizational bins and white construction paper!

We know the importance of providing teachers with the tools needed to give local youth the best education possible. Hundreds of children show up each school year without any basic school supplies and schools do not provide enough supplies as it is, therefore, Zanes Law decided to step in 8 years ago to help bridge the gap.

Teacher, Amanda Knutson, who has attended all eight years, posted her memories of the first giveaway on the our  Facebook page: “I was there! This day is still a great memory – the generosity and friendliness of the staff, the huge bags filled with individual and personal requested items, just an awesome experience.”

Another teacher stated, “We were there and this was our first time! We could not believe how much supplies we came home with! Thank you so much for your generosity!’

“One of our recipients made us aware that she was told by her school not to ask the parents for any supplies, not even a wish list because the school is a Title 1 school. Hearing stories like this confirms that Tucson teachers are still in need of outside assistance, and we are happy that we can help,” said Doug Zanes, owner and responsible attorney of Zanes Law.

This year, Zanes Law partnered with Casa Maria Worker Community, an organization that provides food, clothing, and hygiene products to those in need. Teachers and other members of the Tucson community donated hundreds of items to help fill Casa Maria’s pantry.
